Cognitive 2 - Extreming

Technique Name: Extreming

Technique Target Skill: Communication, projection, planning, understanding

Prerequisites: Double-Dualing.

Participants: Solo (2+ if desired)

Purpose(s): To exercise the participant in projecting outcomes to any given situation using the double-dual nature of life.  To also exercise the participant in using said projections for self-discovery, environmental discovery, and life-planning.

Steps:

  1. Pick a hypothetical situation with a specific action involved.
  2. Project a single reaction (topical) in +1, 0, and -1 states.
  3. Observe projected results from each of those states.
  4. Repeat from step 2 recursively, as desired.

Explanation:

The participant picks a hypothetical situation, preferrably a situation of a social nature.  The participant then picks some action that they, or their chosen person will perform.  The first projection is the reaction, topically, to the action performed.  For example, the projected action could be to give a homeless man a sandwich.  The reaction topic could be "grateful".  The participant then projects the reaction played out in the 3 value states of the double-dual nature.  In the sandwich example, active grateful (+1) might be if the homeless man said "Thank you".  The active exclude (-1) is if the man rejected the sandwich and expressed disgust for pity.  The passive (0) is if the man took the sandwich and ate it without saying a word, or no discernible reaction.

Recursion is possible by defining a subsequent reaction of the same or different topic and applying the reaction to each of the projected results.  There is no limit to the breadth of projected reaction(s) chosen for projection.  Though, it is suggested, for applicable quality, that the participant picks both a situation and a topic they consider "possible".  There are no right or wrong answers because the projections are based on personal, emprical experience.
